What AI assistants cannot do
An AI assistant connected over MCP can do a lot with your labs. It can build, deploy, debug and host. But every learning and competition feature of the platform is closed to it, on purpose, for everyone.
This page lists what an assistant cannot reach, explains why, and says where you do those things instead.

Why
Learning only counts if you did it. Scores, Zeal, league positions, certificates and faculty evaluations are meant to show what you can do. An assistant that could open a quiz, read a hidden test case or submit a flag could earn all of that in your name, and nobody's result would mean anything any more.
So the platform draws a hard line: no assessment action can ever come from an AI assistant connected over MCP. That is a guarantee teachers, colleges and employers can rely on when they look at a result.
The line holds no matter who you are:
- Every plan. Pro does not unlock it.
- Every role. Platform administrators, faculty and moderators are blocked too.
- Every client. Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, VS Code or anything else.
- Every workaround. Asking with different wording, calling a tool by another name, or sending a hand-made request does not get through. The block is enforced by the platform before anything else is checked, not by the assistant's good behaviour.
What happens if you ask
The assistant has no tool for these areas, so it tells you it cannot do that through Selfmade Ninja Labs. If it tries anyway, the platform refuses the call, and the refusal is recorded in your history.

Assistant: I can't reach Code Arena through the Labs connection. Learning and competition features are closed to AI assistants. I can help you set up a lab to practise in instead.
What an assistant can still do for your learning
Your learning is not off-limits to AI. It just has to be your work.

Pasting a problem into an AI chat yourself is not blocked by MCP, but it can still break the rules of a challenge or event. In Code Arena, the built-in Code AI is allowed and simply forfeits that problem's reward. See Fair play → What counts as cheating.
